Mourning ceremony and Free West Papua protest held in London

On 30th October we held a Mourning Service and Free West Papua protest in London outside the Headquarters of BP Tinto and Rio Tinto, both of which which have massive resource interests in West Papua. These multinational corporations are effectively funding Indonesia’s genocide and illegal occupation in West Papua
New Guardian article exposes violence against women in West Papua

An article has recently been published by the Guardian, exposing some of the institutionalised violence against women in West Papua. The article documents many human rights violations against women and also mentions how West Papuans were denied their right to a referendum on self-determination.

We are very happy to announce that West Papuan band The Lani Singers will be performing at the Cambridge Museum of Archaeology and Anthropology in the UK, from 12:00 to 16:30 on Sunday 25th October. A West Papua Art Exhibition is also open on the same day.

West Papuan monks and a journalist arrested and beaten by the Indonesian police

Today in West Papua, several West Papuan monks were reportedly arrested and beaten by the Indonesian police for peacefully demonstrating against the killing of youths and children. A local journalist was also attacked by the Indonesian police.
