Polish tourist sentenced to 5 years in jail by Indonesia

According to the BBC, a Polish man Jakub Skrzypski – has been jailed for 5 years by an Indonesian court in West Papua for treason after allegedly making contacts with West Papuan activists.
The BBC received a text message from the defendant Jakub Skrzypski which said: “I didn’t have the opportunity to speak in my defence or to present any favourable evidence. I reject the trial as well as the verdict,”.
An appeal is planned.
