West Papua documentary to screen on Australia’s NITV

Undercover West Papua documentary Forgotten Bird of Paradise has been confirmed for screening on Australia’s NITV at 5pm on Saturday 9^th April.

Since its release in 2009, the award winning documentary has received widespread critical acclaim, providing a rare and moving insight into the forgotten struggle for independence that has gripped West Papua. It includes never before seen footage of freedom fighters at their stronghold in the Papuan jungle, as well as interviews with human rights victims of the Indonesian regime.

Above all it shows the inspiring resilience of a people who have suffered so much under Indonesian occupation, but whose determination for freedom burns stronger now than at any time in history. Watch the trailer below:
